Md. Humayan Kabir Shimul

Md. Humayan Kabir Shimul currently serves as the Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of South Asia Insurance Company Limited, a role he assumed on 5th December 2024. With a distinguished career spanning more than a decade, Mr. Shimul brings a wealth of expertise in finance, audit, compliance, and risk management, particularly across the Insurance, Finance, and Non-Profit sectors. Prior to his current role, Mr. Shimul held the leading position in different wings that includes finance and accounts, IACD etc. at Prime Insurance Company Limited (PICL), at Central Insurance Company Limited, Shakti Foundation for Disadvantaged Women, NSN, SF Ahmed and Co. Chartered Accountants. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in strengthening corporate governance, financial management, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. His leadership significantly contributed to enhancing the organization’s financial reporting, focusing on bridging compliance gaps, minimizing risks, and fostering transparency and accountability.
Mr. Shimul boasts a versatile skill set encompassing Accounts and Finance, Cost Control, Financial Analysis, and Reporting, Internal and Risk-based Audit, Statutory Audit, Forensic Audit,. His meticulous approach in policy implementation and adherence to regulatory frameworks has consistently delivered value to the organizations he has served. His collaborative leadership has been instrumental in driving process improvements and instilling a strong compliance culture.
Mr. Shimul’s academic background includes an MBS with a specialization in Accounting. He is also pursuing the Chartered Accountancy course under the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and currently he is in Professional Level. Additionally, he is a member of the Dhaka Taxes Bar Association (DTBA) and an Income Tax Practitioner (ITP), maintaining active engagement in tax and regulatory matters. Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Shimul is a regular speaker at conferences, seminars, and training programs focused on Insurance, Leadership, and Skills Development. He is also actively involved in philanthropic initiatives, supporting various social and charitable causes, earning him recognition from prominent media outlets.
